Mental Health & Wellness LLC
Kolbie Elliott, LCP
I enjoy working with individuals with a wide range of concerns, and employ a variety of methods and evidenced-based treatment modalities to meet those individual needs. While I have experience with a variety of skills, I do lean heavily on my cognitive behavioral training. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidenced-based treatment that particularly aligns well with concerns in depressive and anxiety disorders. I am also trained in exposure response prevention (ERP) which remedies anxiety based concerns such as phobias, social anxiety, panic, and OCD.
Sometimes life just gets hard, and while you don't meet criteria for a mental health diagnosis, you could use a little guidance. Perhaps you are grieving a loss, need a boost in self-esteem, are feeling dissatisfied in your current roles, are having difficulty in communication with a family member/coworker/friend, or would like to form more healthful habits in exercise and nutrition to live that prosperous life. I am here for that too!
If there is a concern I feel I am not the best fit for, I will happily help you find someone who will better fit your needs.

I have focused a majority of my career in working with children and their families. Parenting is hard. You want to do right by your child and help them grow into a wonderful well-functioning being with confidence, sociability, gumption, emotion regulation, and all the skills they need to thrive. Whether you are looking to gain confidence in your parenting skills or you have some concerns about the socioemotional functioning of your child, I am here to help! I am open to working with children of all ages.
I am certified in PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapy). This treatment modality is an evidenced based treatment with an attachment and behavioral focus. This is a very hands on treatment approach that helps address concerns of defiance, tantrums, and aggression. It also helps to form valuable skills in socialization, self-esteem, and cooperation, and improves the parent-child relationship.
I have experience working with an array of mental health concerns in childhood utilizing various treatment modalities from non-directive play therapy based techniques to more directive cognitive behavioral treatments. This allows me to address a wide range of concerns such as anxiety (phobias, social anxiety, separation anxiety, selective mutism, OCD, generalized anxiety), depression, adjustment, and self-esteem. I have a particular appeal to working with behavioral concerns such as ADHD and oppositional/defiant behaviors. I also have experience in working with children, and families with children, who have Autism.
If your child is in need of care that I am unable to confidently provide, I am happy to help you find care for your child that best suits your family's needs.

Becoming a new mother is the most amazing experience! It is also an extremely challenging transition. Everything is new, you desperately want to do right by your child, you are overwhelmed by emotion, and your sleep habits have drastically changed. You are in a vulnerable place. According to the NIH, 1 in 7 woman are diagnosed with postpartum depression (PPD) within the first year of giving birth, and nearly 50% of PPD cases remain undiagnosed! The NIH cites that nearly 35% of individual experience postpartum anxiety. Everyone says to soak up the newborn moments, you will never get them back. But how are you supposed to do that when there are times when you feel like an absolute mess? I got you mama! You can enjoy those newborn moments and thrive as a new mother!
I have recently been there, and I understand. I am passionate about providing postpartum support to families, because these moments are precious and we want to keep them that way.
